Hernandez, Lisa - Prek 4

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Lisa Hernandez

Subjects Taught
Language Arts, Math, Reading, Science

I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1999 with a Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Earlychildhood. I earned my Masters degree in Science and Technology from Walden University in 2006.

I have been teaching since the age of 9. I began helping and teaching children in my church with Sunday School, then became active with directing the Girls in Action Unit at my church. I have also had the pleasure of working at my church Day Care. This is my sixth year here at Stonewall-Flanders, but previously taught for eight years in Somerset ISD. Before becoming a teacher, I had the opportunity to embark on working in the field of retail as a Manager of the salesfloor and support team for 19 1/2 years, but realized that my calling was to enhance children's lives.

I was raised in San Antonio 52 yrs. of my life. I became apart of the Harlandale Community at a young age and have enjoyed being apart of this community. Assignments

A Peek at Our Week

For the week of Jan. 8-11 our theme will continue to be “Farm” and “We will focus on how food gets from a farm to our house.” In math we will review color-white, number 7, and we will review the shape star. In Language Arts we will learn the letter “Yyand its sound. In Science and Social Studies we will talk about how, what, why, where and who gets us our food.

Safety First

For the safety of your child and the safety of the other children please be mindful and remember that a photo ID is required to pick up your child in the afternoon. If your child is being picked up by someone else please ask them to have their ID as well and that they are on the pickup list, as we will not release your child if they do not have their ID or are on the list. Please also keep your contact information up to date with your child’s teacher and family development worker in case there is an emergency and you need to be contacted. Your child’s safety is our number one priority so when you arrive to the school, please check in at the office to get a pass to child’s classroom. If you have any questions or concerns please speak with your child’s teacher or an administrator.

Thank you,

Fenley Teachers
